Jayne is a young and attractive widow still grieving for her husband - she's vulnerable - using pills and drink to stave off her painful loneliness. When she finds a stranger unconscious on the road in the middle of nowhere, she struggles to get him home. When he wakes he says he has no memory - he could be anyone. He may even be dangerous - and the police are looking for someone. He has mysterious glimmers of memories, and an edge of danger, which she finds herself inexorably drawn to. He makes her feel like a woman again. But Jayne needs closure - justice - for Paul Jones, the man who killed her husband, to pay for what he did. He's gotten off lightly for her husband's death, with Jayne helpless against his taunts.
